: P& c8 m0 P: Q. k+ R. Z- p+ H Phil Hellmuth，出生于威斯康星州的麦迪森，父亲是威斯康星一所大学的教授，家中兄妹五人。他小时候的大部分时间也是上学，做家庭作业以及其他一些与学习相关的任务，中学毕业后他到威斯康兴州立大学继续学习。在校期间开始玩一些低注额的现金游戏。这是他在扑克方面的天赋慢慢展现出来。

他每周参加几次锦标赛，并从中完善他的技巧。他甚至和他的老师一起玩牌，尽管他的老师想赢他，但是Phil是如此敏敏锐从未输他的给老师。到大学毕业前他还清了所有的助学贷款，并且还有了$20000的积蓄。他就在周末跑到Las Vegas玩扑克。 他很快认识到玩DC游戏很有乐趣，如色子或二十一点等等……毕竟是初来乍到，钱一下子就输光了，这激起了他要好好提升打扑克实力的决心。7 w ~9 J* p# i1 V" u$ v

1989年24岁的Hellmuth与卫冕冠军Johnny Chan 进行单挑，最后赢得了比赛的胜利，成为当时最年轻的WSOP主赛事冠军。这个记录被保持了相当长的一段时间，直到22岁的Peter Eastgate得到2008年WSOP主赛事冠军才重新刷新了由Hellmuth创造的记录。

2007年Hellmuth赢得了他的第11个WSOP手镯， Hellmuth的手镯全部是在德州扑克比赛中获得的。另外Hellmuth还保持着进入钱圈和决赛桌次数最多的记录。在WSOP理解比赛中Hellmuth供赢得了$6 106 838，在WSOP中奖金名单中排名第九。Hellmuth也参加WPT赛事，虽然没有拿到过冠军头衔，但是11次进圈和3次最终桌也可以称得上是不错战绩。

2008年10月，Hellmuth创立了线上扑克装备网站。扑克爱好者可以从中挑选自己中意的扑克书籍，DVD等。2009年5月，Hellmuth发行了一本新书：Deal Me In，该书收录了20位顶级扑克玩家的扑克故事！Hellmuth还是一位扑克传道者。他已经发布了Ultimate White To Black Belt Course 和Phil Hellmuth's Million Dollar Poker System系列的教学视频。2 a* `4 J- b' P$ z9 J; j3 s1 s
