据英国《英中时报》报道，英国莱斯特大学一名天朝留学生赌债高筑，向父母谎称自己被绑架要赎金“买命”，实为要钱还债，日前在莱斯特民事法庭受审。

去年9月21日，毛给他在天朝的母亲挂电话，声称被人绑架，绑匪索要六万英镑赎金，必须立刻达到毛本人的银行账户上。 [table]( f R! f [7 `9 L

而当警方和家长都把“绑架案”当真时，毛庆菁还在当地的DC玩得不亦乐乎。& U$ i. P1 R: p% K5 t9 t
当晚九点，莱斯特警方在毛庆菁家中发现他本人，并拆穿了他的谎言。+ o/ s b$ r& U1 n" Y7 B& E
郭云表示毛编的谎话浪费了警方整整14个小时的警力，一名侦缉总督察(Detective Chief Inspector)甚至被安排到这个专案组。其他案件的侦查工作也因为这个“绑架案”临时抽调警力而受到影响。( J) W3 C% Y2 Q3 L
检察官表示毛在莱斯特大学经济系完成了第一年的学业，成绩很好，今年暑假一个朋友带他上DC玩之后就此沉迷其中，第一次他在DC里赚了一万英镑，但是在接下来的几个月中，他陆陆续续输了七万英镑。' q# \3 |7 y" k/ `9 B* c
12月23日，毛庆菁在法庭上承认自己谎报犯罪，浪费了JC的工作时间。他的辩护律师Jonathan Holt表示，毛的行为是“令人震惊的愚蠢”。
